A Season of New Beginnings
Navigating the ups and downs of loss and change, growth and renewal as a new season begins to emerge.
September always feels like the beginning of the year to me. As the new month and season approach, I’ve been sitting with the many things that have come to an end in this season of my life.
I am coming out of a series of significant endings. My beloved father-in-law passed away. After an intense couple of years, my post-grad work is now completed. And a long-time, dear friend also passed away.
It has been a time of grief and celebration. Feeling and numbness. Connection and isolation.
A season of endings and new beginnings.
Each ending marks the start of something new. As we learn to carry on without dear ones in our life, as I look at the freedom of time and space that has opened before me, there are times I feel almost paralyzed to move forward.
What will this new season look like? How will I navigate it? Where do I even begin?
All the questions, all the doubts, all the ‘shoulds’ rush to the surface and it can be easy to sit in this cocktail of discomfort and uncertainty and do nothing at all.
And sometimes that’s exactly what we need.
No pressure to do anything but be where we are, feeling what we’re feeling. To turn that same compassionate gaze we offer others, onto ourselves.
It can be tough when we’ve been conditioned to believe we need to be doing something, to be productive, all the time. That our sense of worth is dependent upon it. The doing, however, distracts us from how we’re feeling. It keeps us operating on the surface, unable to explore what lies beneath. This background pressure takes us away from the medicine available when we are present for what is true for us right now.
It is in these moments of presence we can hear ourselves. We can tune into our deeper wisdom and navigate from that place.
I was reading some of Rilke’s work earlier this week – he’s a favorite of mine - and this quote helped me soften back into this knowing.
It is from this slow, gentle place where I know my best and most aligned work is created. This place is not quite my default yet, but I’m working on it 😉.
It reminds me of the infinity symbol, or the figure eight ♾️. From a larger vantage point, nothing is ever truly gone. As everything is energy, and energy is neither created nor destroyed, it simply changes shape or form.
So as the energy in my life is changing with the seasons, as these endings make way for new beginnings, I’ve been allowing myself more space to be present. To be open to hearing myself.
As I began working from this space, some big changes started flowing in for my signature training program. What was previously being called, Leading From Our Intuitive Intelligence®: How we Unlock the Full Expression of Our Leadership Potential, has evolved into Leadership Alchemy: The Program.
This change reflects the integration and evolution of my two decades of work in leadership and my recent Spiritual Direction post-grad work with the Institute for Intuitive Intelligence®. It is a beautiful blend – an alchemy – of what it means to lead from a deeply rooted and aligned place, for the greater good. Not from ego or fear, but from our center, bringing all of who we are into how we show up in the world.
It is an acknowledgment of all the gifts we already bring to our work. How aligning them with our inner wisdom can catapult us to another level of leadership expression, one that is uniquely ours to share with the world. One that is needed in the world today.
You likely already feel the call. Perhaps you are not yet sure how to act on it or where to begin. This work is the key to unlocking that knowledge and helping you put it into action.
Through this new publication and my programming, my goal with Leadership Alchemy is to support you with:
Learning how to tap into your inherent wisdom while alchemizing all the incredible skills and expertise you have worked so hard to cultivate in your leadership.
Learning to identify and expand beyond the limits of your conscious, analytical mind, your subconscious fears and doubts, and the limiting beliefs you’ve taken on from someone or something outside of you.
Feeling equally challenged and supported to bring your unique leadership alchemy into the world.
Embodying the full expression of yourself and your leadership, one that is limitless and expansive, congruent and energizing, authentic and powerful.
Living and leading from a place of genuine, rooted confidence, becoming the demonstration of what is possible for others to embody.
Learning to cultivate the space and devotional practices that bring you home to your center when life becomes overwhelming and frenetic again (as it will).
Beginning to heal yourself. Shedding the old patterns, old beliefs, and expectations that were never your own as you step more fully into all of who you are.
As we come into alignment with our Leadership Alchemy, the universe responds. Synchronicities begin to occur everywhere. The breadcrumbs we’ve been looking for become less subtle. The path to our next steps becomes clear before us.
I want to help you create the life and work that matters most to you and that is needed in the world today. My mission is to create the conditions that bring this community of like-hearted leaders together to transform the prevailing leadership paradigm and better serve humanity.
